BRITANNIA BEACH TRAILS ASSOCIATION
Established in 2024 by local enthusiasts, the BBTA is composed of hikers, mountain bikers, trail runners and eBikers.
The purpose of the Association is to promote and facilitate trail building activities, foster a sense of community among members, and advocate for the sustainable development and maintenance of mountain bike and hiking trails, in town and its surrounding lands.
The BBTA is 100% volunteer-run.
We are committed to sustainable trail building and delivering a positive impact on local recreation and tourism.

Mission
Britannia Beach currently boasts hiking and mountain biking trails but lacks structured maintenance and development plans, leading to potential hazards and the deterioration of unsanctioned routes. Trail building and maintenance are enormous undertakings and must be properly managed as Britannia Beach continues to grow in population and frequentation.

Britannia Beach Trails Association (BBTA) has been established to address these challenges. Drawing inspiration from successful models such as the Pemberton Valley Trails Association (PVTA), Squamish Off-Road Cycling Association (SORCA), Whistler Off-Road Cycling Association (WORCA), North Shore Mountain Bike Association (NSMBA), and others, the BBTA aims to foster dedicated community engagement and coordination to ensure the safety and preservation of hiking and non-motorized (e-bike Class 1 and adaptive bike allowed) trails within Britannia Beach. The BBTA intends to uphold Britannia Beach's valuable outdoor recreational assets.
Vision
BBTA emphasizes a transparent approach, soliciting community input through a bi-annual survey; carefully and precisely gathering feedback on work accomplished and community interest. For direct residents impacting projects; BBTA is poised to collaborate closely with the Britannia Beach Community Association (BBCA) to streamline communication and enhance community involvement in trail projects, reviewing trail planning and proposing future trail developments before implementation that could affect resident properties and privacy.
With new developments and the area anticipated increased of foot traffic and recreation enthusiasts, the BBTA aims to maintain and create new walking, hiking, and biking trails in the area to accommodate our existing community and keep up with future traffic. Properly marked trails will also ensure that locals and visitors do not end up on unsanctioned routes or private property.
